Before your appointment

Thank you for booking an appointment to see Mr Craig in his private clinic, based at The Saxon Clinic. We look forward to meeting you at your allocated date and time.

On arrival, please speak to the reception team and they will direct you to outpatient department where consultations are held.

We suggest that you obtain authorisation from the insurance company, prior to yourappointment. The same would be required for any subsequent treatments or further appointments.  Should the insurance company decline to fund your treatment, the cost of the treatment will be invoiced to you, and you would be asked to cover the cost of the treatments.

Please note it is your responsibility to obtain and provide a referral letter to the clinic if we request one from you.  We strongly recommend that you advise the clinic of any MRI/X-ray/Ultrasound scan details including the date, location and the body part scanned as soon as you have booked your appointment.  We will endeavour to obtain the images and reports ahead of your appointment.

Following your consultation, you will receive a typed clinic letter. This would detail the outcome of the consultation and the agreed treatment plan including any further referrals for other therapies, injection treatments or surgery. We routinely email clinic letters to the clinic patients, please advise us if you would prefer not to receive your clinic letter via this method.

If a theatre admission for surgery is required following the consultation, the appropriate codes will be provided for you to discuss with your insurance company.  A date will be arranged, and the details will be passed to The Saxon Clinic. Further admission details will be advised by The Saxon Clinic. If you are self-funding your inpatient treatment, The Saxon Clinic will provide a quote for the cost of the treatment prior to you being admitted. The Saxon Clinic would require full payment in advance.

Cancellation policy

We require two working days’ notice for cancellation of appointments. Any notice less than two working days will result in a late cancellation invoice for the full consultation fees. If you need to change or cancel your appointment, we request that you contact Emma Roberts. We would do our best to reschedule your appointment to a time which is convenient for you.

Outstanding fees

By booking an appointment you are accepting full responsibility for settling any balances and payment of the invoices for the treatment and the medical advice you will receive. For that reason, we recommend that you contact your insurance company to seek authorisation before booking your appointment.  Our payment terms are 30 days to settle your account infull.  If payment is not received within this timescale, then this will result in added fees to cover any costs accrued by debt recovery agencies as well as administrative charges and late payment fees.

Mr Craig’s fees for self funding patients are as follows:

New patient consultation £250, Follow-up consultation £175

Diagnostic scans and other test i.e. Xray’s, MRI and Ultrasound scans as advised by the hospital.

Fee assured/insurance patients - as per contractual agreements with insurer.

We politely request that consultation charges for self-funding patients are settled promptly on receipt of the invoice.

Inpatient fees for surgery for self-funding patients will be provided in a quote from The Saxon Clinic admissions office.

GDPR and Confidentiality

We take confidentiality very seriously within Mr Craig’s practice.  We would not share your confidential information without your consent and unless absolutely necessary. We only share your information with your GP, insurance company (if appropriate) and medical professionals or hospitals involved with your care. Should you wish to withdraw information sharing with your GP, insurance company or any involved medical professional please inform the clinic secretary.
